Bristol: 2017
Play Me I’m Yours, an artwork by Bristol artist <link https: www.lukejerram.com _blank>Luke Jerram, is a musical art trail of individually-decorated street pianos installed in public spaces across a city for everyone to play and enjoy. Reaching over 10 million people worldwide, more than 1700 pianos have been set up in over 55 cities across the globe, from Hong Kong to New York, bearing the simple instruction Play Me I’m Yours. This artwork created a global movement, inspiring other organisations and individuals to place pianos in public for everyone to play. The idea has now become part of culture and its common to see pianos in train stations and airports across the globe.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the project, Play Me, I’m Yours is coming to Bristol from 17 August to 7 September 2017. 18 street pianos, transformed by Bristol artists, will be installed across the city for the public to play.
This website has been set up for you to post and share your films, photos and stories about the pianos. Whilst documenting each piano’s journey, it connects the pianos and their communities across the city and acts as a legacy for the artwork. Choose a piano location to post and/or view films, photos, and comments, to find out who decorated it and what the opening hours are.
