The popular annual Sideways Looks event is the degree show of students studying Media and Cultural Studies, Film Studies and Journalism at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Students work in print, web media, video and photography, to produce innovative work informed by a theoretical, critical understanding of contemporary culture.

In past years, work shown here has gone on to win awards, and students have developed successful careers in media production, design and research. This year the show takes the form of a one-day media festival, with new photography and interactive work on show, and a schedule of screenings of short films running throughout the day. The programme includes documentary, fiction, and experimental work in the different media.
