Addicted to Arne Jacobsen? Nuts about Nelson? Mad for Merrow? If you can’t get enough of collectable furniture, glass and ceramics, Bristol’s Midcentury show at The Paintworks will be right up your vintage strasa with British, Scandinavian, European and American design that will leave you drooling.  After demand for a bigger show, Modern Shows has increased the show space by opening up an adjoining room without pumping up the entrance fee.
The Midcentury Show attracts everyone from furniture designers and interior geeks to the investment-wise and eco-savvy. Furniture and homeware from the behemoths of C20 design including Charles and Ray Eames, Hans Wegner, PIero Fornasetti and Alvar Aalto jostle for space with original film posters, fabrics, lighting and the most collectable ceramics and glass from the post-war period to the late Seventies.
Modern Shows was recently picked as official curator for furniture and design at Wayne Hemingway and The South Bank team’s Vintage at Southbank extravaganza. For a taste of other things the modern show peeps do and the dates of the other shows at Lords and Dulwich College please visit the modern people
page at www.modernshows.com . The site also links to a host of shops selling the kind of design you will find at their shows. Modern Shows will re-launch in October with the modern people page on the site becoming THE MARKETPLACE. The website is widening its umbrella to link to quality vintage and vintage loving people, places and products all over the world.
Entrance is still £5 on the day or you can purchase an early bird e-ticket for £4 from the website. Please be aware that not all of the designers have a credit card facility so you may need to bring cash or a cheque book to purchase or make deposits on the day. All of the dealers deliver.
